Gnome Plant re-appears

Marilyn came over yesterday for a hike......

and after dinner ride to the harbor

We had just started up the Waxmyrtle Trail

when Marilyn spotted a cluster of Gnome Plants,

(Hemitomes congestum)

same as I found on the China Creek trail last year!

Wow! What a find, a new place to see them.

Azalea Occidentale, the Oregon native in the garden

just coming into bloom and very fragrant

Rhododendron macrophyllum

The best native rhododendron display I've seen

since I've lived here. Really wow!

Each plant grows from seed so each one is different.

There is every variation on the theme.

The cool weather has let the blossoms last.

First camping trip of the year to Edson Creek

near Port Orford, sadly without kitty

Bike ride up Sixes River Rooad, in the ferns

through the trees....

a little too close to the waterfall, ooops!

long canyon view

Thai soup at Coquille Point on the way home

Monday blues hike

Mitcho was so distraught about Tuxy (our kitty

of 8 years who died of cancer on saturday) he offered to

go on a hike with me! On the dock at Cleowox Lake.

He was the best kitty, check his blog here
